Maria MMus (Hons), BA (Hons) is a qualified music teacher with a lot of patience and enthusiasm for teaching.
The teacher has various work experience in school environments as well as giving private lessons at home (currently she is working in a number of schools in Manchester) both face-to-face and with a group of students teaching them literacy, music theory and instrumental performance. Working in school environments has given her invaluable knowledge of planning and leading lessons, encouraging individual progress of each pupil while creating beneficial and enjoyable lessons.
Maria offers private lessons to children and adults in guitar, cello and piano as well as teaches languages and provides interpreter’s/translator‘s services if needed. She prepares a personalised learning plan for every pupil in order to help them achieve their own goals and objectives at their own pace.
Maria is also a bilingual teacher, apart from English; she can speak and teach in Greek, Lithuanian and Russian.
*The teacher has an Enhanced CRB Certificate and has completed a Child Protection and Safeguarding Course.
BACKGROUND:
Apart from teaching, Maria has various performing experience as a solo, as a member of orchestra and chamber ensemble. She started learning music professionally at the age of 6 and from then she gave many public concerts and participated in a number of international festivals and competitions:
2003 participated in a tour around Europe giving concerts in Germany, Poland, France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Russia and Lithuania.
2004 won Gran Prix in Belgium, in Chamber Festival-Competition.
2006 participated in an International Music Congress in Sweden with maestro David Geringas.
2008-2012 was a member of BIOS Chamber orchestra in Athens.
2012 graduated form University of Indianapolis with an honor Magna Cum Laude in Bachelor of Arts (Performance).
2013 completed her Master studies in Music Management and Artist Development in London with a Merit.
Maria has studied classical guitar with a famous pedagogue and performer Kostas Kotsiolis.
Maria is also a language teacher and can help you learn or improve in a number of languages: English, Greek, and Lithuanian.
